headshotAllie Bidwell is a 26-year-old journalist living in Washington, D.C.

Throughout the years, Allie has worked at small local newspapers, larger metropolitan outlets, and national news organizations, including The Daily Californian, the San Francisco Chronicle and The Chronicle of Higher Education. Her work has also been published in The Seattle Times, The Huffington Post, and the New York Daily News.

Most recently, Allie was the national education policy reporter at U.S. News & World Report. For more than two years, she covered education policy, from preschool through college, with a focus on legislative issues, school policies and governance, financing and academic standards, and the Department of Education.

Now, Allie is a reporter/editor for the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), a nonprofit higher education association focused on promoting student success and access.

As a reporter for NASFAA, Allie writes stories on financial aid policy, research and legislation, and helps oversee the production and distribution of a newsletter that is sent out to more than 20,000 financial aid professionals across the country each day.
